Yep, finally got that actual oil pressure gauge on there. Worried a little. Initial, cold, oil pressure at idle is good but once it gets warmed up it gets a little on the low side. It's not as low as the single digits but its below what I think it should be. I did use 5w-30 this time around which might be a little on the thin side for a an 'ole high mileage 5-liter. I'm not going to take it tonight so that I can do another oil change tomorrow and see if it makes a difference. I might throw that can 'o Restore in there too (I know, some say its nothing more than 'snake oil'). It is simple an older engine, I don't deny that. I never know how it was treated before I got it, though. I do worry. | ||

I went down to the big town the other day to pick up some things. For one thing, I needed some large clamps to fit over the seams on my Stang's headers (where they come apart for easy removal, installation). Plus, I needed some paint to finish the '85 Mustang SVO model i'm working on. I should have picked up some semi-gloss black too. I thought all I needed was some flat. Well, we'll see how it comes out. The Mustang is coming along nicely. It's fully operational but I'm spending some time to get the exhaust fully sealed. Them headers are nice but getting at those seams are kind of difficult at times. I got all four of 'em sealed but one of those on the passenger side might not be all the way. Ughhh, I'll get it eventually. I've got some goodies coming for it too. I finally went ahead and got it a K&N filter (that should add a good 150 horsepower ;-) ). Plus, I've got it an actual oil pressure gauge. Yep, not just a light (in gauge form) that it comes with. | ||
